The Vivo Y72 5G is the first 5G enabled Y-series smartphone for the global smartphone market. The phone which comes in graphite black and dream glow colors is an affordable 5G mid-range device. It sports the waterdrop notch design at the front with a thin chin at the bottom. The back is clean since there are only the camera module and a vertical Vivo logo a the bottom as seen below. As for the prices, they are yet to be announced once the phone is officially launched on 22 March. The shipping and sales will begin shortly thereafter.

The specifications and features on the Vivo Y72 5G are very enticing. The smartphone uses a 6.58 inches Full HD+ IPS LCD display. It has a pixel density of 440 pixels per inch. The display also houses an under-display fingerprint sensor. The phone ships with Android 11 OS out of the box. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC chipset which has an Octa-core CPU with 2 core Cortex-A76 at 2200MHz and 6 cores Cortex-A55 at 2000MHz. The graphics processor is a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The chipset boasts of being incredibly power efficient while providing dual 5G SIM support. The Vivo Y72 5G comes in 2 variants, 8 GB + 128 GB and 12 GB + 256 GB of RAM and internal storage respectively.
The back of the phone features a triple camera setup with a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP depth sensor. A 16 MP selfie camera lies in a waterdrop notch at the front. The battery on the Vivo Y72 is a 5000 mAh battery which has 18W fast charging through a USB Type-C at the bottom of the phone. It has sensors like the accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and a compass. It also has Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and dual SIM support.
