The much anticipated Xiaomi Mi 10S is finally available to consumers for purchase. The 5G smartphone was launched on 10 March with a price tag of Rs. 37,000 or $510.99 for the 8 GB RAM and 126 GB internal storage variant. the phone has a similar design to the Xiaomi Mi 10 launched last except it has a new rear camera module. However, the display is still curved at the edges with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Even the display and the rear camera are the same.
Xiaomi Mi 10S Full Specifications
The Mi 10S has a 6.67 inches curved display. The display utilizes an AMOLED panel which offers a 1080 x 2400 screen resolution, a 20:9 Aspect ratio, and a 90 Hz screen refresh rate. It has a pixel density of 395 pixels per inch. The phone runs on Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 12 skin. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset which utilizes the Adreno 650 GPU for processing graphics. Xiaomi equipped the Mi 10S with 8 GB of RAM and 12 GB of RAM which is paired with 128 GB and 256 GB of internal storage respectively. The phone uses Super VC Liquid Cooling System to keep the overall temperatures down during heavy tasks and especially gaming.
The Mi 10S also has dual stereo speakers sound by Harman Kardon which turns out to be surprisingly good. The phone scored the highest DXO mark Audio test (80), both in playback and recording, defeating rivals like the Asus Rog Phone 5(79), the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro(76), and even the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max which managed to score only 74 points.
At the back, the Mi 10S has a total of 4 cameras. There is a 108 MP main sensor placed at the top of the camera module, a 13 MP ultrawide camera, a 2 MP macro shooter, and a 2 MP depth sensor. This camera can shoot 4K videos at 60 fps and 1080p videos at 120 fps. For the selfie camera, the Mi 10S uses a 20 MP sensor placed at the top left corner of the display in a punch-hole cutout.
The phone draws power from a 4780 mAh battery which supports 33W fast charging via USB Type-C, and 30W wireless charging. It also supports wireless charging, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1. To enhance user security, the Mi 10S has an under-display fingerprint sensor. Sensors on the Mi 10 include; Accelerometer, gyroscope, Infrared port, GPS, compass, and a proximity sensor. Sadly, Xiaomi didn’t install a 3.5 mm headphone jack and FM radio on the Mi 10S although these features are still useful to some of us.
