Xiaomi has just added another 2 high-end smartphones to their artillery which stiffens the competition even more. The launch of the Xiaomi Redmi K40 and the K40 Pro comes just days after the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 11 which has proved to be one of the best devices by the company. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer also introduces the new Xiaomi Redmi K40 and the Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro on February 25th, 2021. The two phones are expected to become stiff competitors to the Mi 11 as they will also be powered by the powerful Snapdragon 888. The price of the Redmi K40 series is expected to start from 2,999 Japanese Yuan.
Xiaomi Redmi K40 Specifications
The Redmi K40 will be launched alongside the Redmi K40 Pro. It sports a 6.67 inches Samsung E4 AMOLED screen which supports a 120 Hz refresh rate. The E4 material is used to enhance the brightness of the display while optimizing color accuracy and power efficiency. The display offers 4K resolution with a total of 526 pixels per inch. It runs on Android 11 out of the box with the latest MIUI 12.2. The processor on the Redmi K40 is the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 which supports 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
At the back, the phone has a 108 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, a 5 MP macro shooter, and a 2 MP depth sensor which is a combination that is almost similar to that of the Xiaomi Mi 11. However, the selfie camera on the Redmi K40 is a 30 MP shooter which is 10 MP more compared to that on the Mi 11. The rest of the specifications are a 4420 mAh battery with 33W fast charging, NFC, GPS, infrared port, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6 which in theory can hit speeds over 250% faster than the current Wi-Fi 5.
Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro Specifications
The display type and size of the Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro are similar to that of the base model (Redmi K40) with the only difference being that the Pro version offers a 144Hz refresh rate. Even the pixel density is the same at 526 pixels per inch. The processor and the Android version are also the same. However, the Redmi K40 Pro comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage which is more than enough for any usage. It features a 108 MP main camera, a 13 MP ultrawide sensor, a 5 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor as the rear cameras. The front camera has a 30 MP sensor. The other specifications are a 4420 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, infrared port. It also has Wi-Fi 6 which promises faster connections and speeds. However, it doesn’t come with a 3.5 mm headphone jack or FM Radio.
