The Huawei Mate 40E is the newest addition to the Huawei Mate 40 5G series. The phone was launched on 18 March in China for $706 or Rs. 51,500 for the 8GB/128GB model and $785 or Rs. 57,246 for the 8GB/256GB model. However, the phone is no different from the Huawei Mate 40 Pro in terms of design as seen from the image above. It has a curved display at the edges and a punch-hole cut out for the selfie camera. The rear camera module is still circular with a Leica logo in the middle. The phone will be available globally soon but it is already available in China for the prices mentioned above.

The Huawei Mate 40E has a 6.5 inches display. The display utilizes an OLED panel which offers a 90 Hz screen refresh rate and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. It has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2376 and a 19:8:9 Aspect ratio. The phone runs on Android 10 out of the box with EMUI 11.0 skin. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 990E SoC chipset which has a Mali-G76 GPU. It packs 8GB of RAM and an option for 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. The front display houses a 13 MP selfie camera. The back has a total of 3 cameras in a circular module. The main camera is a 64 MP main sensor, a 16 MP ultrawide sensor, and an 8 MP telephoto lens. A dual-LED flash sits at the top of the camera module. A 4200 mAh battery powers the Huawei Mate 40E which supports 40W fast charging through a USB Type-C at the bottom. The phone also includes features like, dust and splash resistance, 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, under-display fingerprint sensor, and air gestures.
