The Itel A48 was officially launched in India on 14 October 2020. The phone falls in the entry-level category with a starting price of Rs. 5,999 in India and BDT 6,930 in Bangladesh. The A48 is the newest member of the Itel A-series which targets to deliver very cheap devices in Asian countries and Africa. The phone is available in 3 colors; Gradation Purple, Gradation Green & Gradation Black.

The Itel A48 sports a 6.1 inches IPS LCD HD+ display with a total pixel density of 276 PPI and a waterdrop notch design. It runs on Android 10 Go Edition out of the box. The phone is powered by a Quad-core processor with a 1.4 GHz base frequency. In terms of memory, the Itel A48 is available with only 2 GB of RAM + 32 GB of internal storage. At the rear, the phone sports a single 5 MP shooter and a single 5 MP selfie camera at the front which is also used with the face unlock feature. The phone draws power from a 3000 mAh battery with no fast charging.
The Itel a48 also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for extra security. The fingerprint scanner can be also be used to answer calls, take photos, capture videos, stop alarms, and record calls just by placing your finger on it if you want to perform any of the above actions.
