A few weeks after launching the Vivo V19, the company went ahead and announced that they will be launching the Vivo Y30 in Kenya. Vivo has been working hard to penetrate the Kenyan smartphone market which is by far ruled by Tecno, Infinix, and Oppo. However, Vivo have has successfully been able to join the race and it’s now introducing another entry-level device, the Vivo Y30. The phone is expected to go for approximately Ksh 20,000 which is affordable considering the Vivo Y30 specs.
Vivo Y30 Specs in Kenya;
The Vivo Y30 sports a 6.47 inches IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1520 screen resolution. It has a total pixel density of 266 pixels per inch and offers a 19:5:9 aspect ratio. The phone has an 82.95 screen-to-body ratio. The phone also utilizes the punch-hole design for the front camera so there isn’t a huge bezel at the top.
Software & Hardware
The phone runs on the latest version of Android 10 paired with Vivo’s Funtouch 10.0 launcher. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset which has an Octa-core processor (4×2.35 GHz Cortex-A53 & 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53). For the graphics processor, the phone utilizes the PowerVR GE8320. With these specs the phone can do light gaming and day to day activities perfectly.
The phone is only available in one model. The Vivo Y30 ships with 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. This is enough storage to store anything and for that reason, the phone doesn’t have a MicroSDXC slot.
The Vivo Y30 doesn’t have the best camera combination but it is perfect considering its price range. The phone sports a quad-camera setup at the rear. The setup consists of a 13 MP main camera + 8 MP ultrawide camera + 2 MP macro shooter and a 2 MP depth sensor. There’s also an LED flash at the bottom of the camera module.
At the front, the phone has a single 8 MP selfie camera that offers FULL HD video calls. The camera is placed at the top left corner of the display as the phone utilizes the punch-hole design for the selfie camera.
Battery life should be really a problem with the Vivo Y30. The phone is powered by a massive 5000 mAh battery with a standard 10W charging capability. It also uses the USB Type-C for charging and data transfer.
